New Zealand vs Australia 2nd Test - Day 4

Jackson Bird acknowledges the applause of the crowd after bagging five wickets to bowl New Zealand out for 335 runs in their second innings

Kane Williamson led New Zealand's charge on Day One, showing great application against reverse swing. He fell three short of his 14th Test century. His knock helped New Zealand overcome the first innings deficit.

Williamson (left) and Corey Anderson put on a 102-run stand for the fifth wicket. The duo played out the first session of Day 2, but departed quickly after Lunch.

Jackson Bird struck thrice in quick succession to send Anderson, Williamson and Tim Southee back to the pavilion, leaving the hosts reeling at 210 for 7.

Matt Henry provided a surprising counter-attack and put on 118 runs for the eighth wicket with BJ Watling to take New Zealand past the 300-run mark.

David Warner got Australia off to a steady start before gloving a short-pitched delivery on the leg side to the wicketkeeper. He stood his ground initially, before New Zealand decided to take a review. He was the only Australian wicket to fall on Day 4 as the visitors finished on 70 for 1.
